Our youngest member Lizzie Briggs recently bumped into James Galway in Manchester and slipped him a copy of our latest CD.
Sir James’ verdict? “Loved your CD and the group sounds great!” Well done team!

Okay, so this is old news now but a few months ago this web site got reviewed by Tony Barr from the BFS (British Flute Society) as part of a Website of the Month feature.
We were delighted to get such a positive review – thanks Tony! His criticisms were useful and have (finally!) been acted upon; see if you can spot our new way of presenting our recordings online in the Recordings page.

Read this! After one of our latest concerts, the first with our new contrabass flute, this comment appeared in the letter section of The Westmorland Gazette.
As you might have noticed things have changed around here; we have a new-look web site (should be easier for us to keep it up to date) and a new section for photos.
Our new contrabass made it onto the local news! Have a look at the news article online. This appeal brought us another £250 in donations!

After many months of fundraising, we were finally able to purchase a Contrabass flute from Eva Kingma, which we received at the start of January and have used in two of our rehearsals. This gigantic flute means that Suzanne has to come even earlier to set up and our practice room is a little crowded these days, but I am sure that everyone would agree that it was worth every penny and will be good to show off in our concerts in March!
